Hung Vu

Dr. Hung Vu was raised in Northern Virginia, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, and attended vet school at Virginia Tech. He now lives in Virginia Beach as part of his state-wide tour and has been part of the Hilltop team since 2018.

Dr. Vu’s professional interests include preventative health care, surgery, and especially behavior. He is Fear Free certified, which means less stressful clinic visits for your pets. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming, watching sports and YouTube videos of cats, and going on long walks with his hound Sammy.

Alyssa Britton

Dr. Alyssa Britton was raised in Upstate New York and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Technology from a small school in Massachusetts. After undergrad, she moved to Virginia Beach and practiced as a Licensed Veterinary Technician for several years before attending Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine for her veterinary degree.

Dr. Britton is Fear Free certified and is passionate about giving your pet a positive experience during their visit. Her professional interests include behavior, nutrition, and preventative healthcare.

In her free time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time outdoors with her husband and border collie mix, Bowline.

Phil Haros

Dr. Philip Haros joined Kempsville Veterinary Hospital in 2022. After studying veterinary medicine in Australia and Canada, He came back home to Virginia Beach to settle down. Dr. Haros’ interests include internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, and urgent care.

In his free time you can find him exploring antique shops, playing with his dogs, and traveling abroad! He owns a Bernese mountain dog name Ovi and a Bernedoodle named Oni.

Davina Spencer

Bio Coming Soon.Dr. Davina Spencer is a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She has worked in Florida and Virginia, where she honed her skills and passion for animal well – being. Growing up in a quaint town nestled in the Appalachian mountains of Virginia, she carries the values of community and connection into the practice.

Dr. Spencer’s professional interest include surgery, ultrasound, dermatology, and preventive care. Each day presents an opportunity to merge her skills with a genuine love for animals, making a positive impact on their lives.

Dr. Spencer loves spending time with her husband Hunter and their beloved canine companion, Lolli, who hold a special place in her heart. She also enjoys delving into captivating books to exploring the bounties of nature through foraging and rock hounding. She finds joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Hilltop Veterinary Clinic offers general and urgent care for companion animals. We strive to maintain and operate in a fear free environment. Our goal is to provide affordable care to our community.

We offer separate waiting areas for felines and canines. We also offer towels sprayed with Feliway to place over your feline’s carrier. Our goal is to decrease any stress that may occur while the patient waits for their appointment.

What to expect during your visit.

  • After check-in, a member of our team will accompany you to an examination room to weigh your pet.
  • A veterinarian will then meet with you to gather essential health information about your pet. They will conduct an examination, address your questions or concerns, and recommend further diagnostics or treatment if necessary.
  • Recommended diagnostic tests and treatments are usually performed in our treatment area.
  • Once the veterinary consultation is concluded, you will return to our front reception area for billing and scheduling future appointments.

She started her career in Vet med in 2016 when she graduated from Blue Ridge Community College. She has always loved animals and having had a medical background as an EMT, the idea of getting to combine her like of medicine with her love of animals seemed like the right move. She has worked in emergency, urgent care, general practice and specialty. She had the pleasure of taking care of lots of different kinds of animals from chinchillas to owls to sheep. She shares her life with two hounds, 3 cats, and husband. She enjoys camping, hiking, cooking, gardening, and most importantly taking care of animals.

Customer Service Representative

Dottsie joined our team at Hilltop in 2021 as our lead receptionist. Her love for animals has been lifelong, she has worked in the veterinary field since 1987. For many years before moving to Virginia, Dottsie was a wildlife rehabilitator and she bred and showed Labrador Retrievers. Dottsie is the proud nana to Bruce, Dakota, Jason and Dylan.

Mattie is a veterinary assistant at Hilltop from Chesapeake, VA. She is a full time student completing her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science at Old Dominion University. If she is not studying or working, Mattie loves to grab some boba tea and read at home with her dog named Kai and her parrot named Tweet.

Elle is a veterinary assistant and receptionist here at HVC. Although she is new to the veterinary field, it has been her lifelong dream. She plans on pursuing a technician degree. When she isn’t working, Elle enjoys spending time with her family, raising her pit bull puppy Osi Lawrence, and watching New York Giants football with her husband.

Emilee, AVA

Veterinary Assistant

Emilee graduated from Frank W. Cox in 2019 where she spent most of her time in choir. Ever since she was “knee high to a grasshopper” she has been interested in animal care. Earning her Approved Veterinary Assistant Certification at TCC, combined with years of volunteer work at the SPCA, she is excited to be a part of the Hilltop family. She currently has a Guinea pig named Milo which she calls her Peruvian panda.
